Want to know what happens during a 90-minute delay?  Or what/when DCSD calls a snow day? What about when it gets too cold for recess?  Well, you’ve come to the right place.

  • When does school start for a 90-minute delay?

    • Doors open at 10:25 a.m., school begins at 10:35 a.m.

  • When will we know if students are on a regular school day, a 90-minute delay or if school is closed?

    • There is a lot of good information in this 2 minute episode of Supt’s On.  Basically, the DCSD tries to get information out as early as possible - this could be the night before, or around 5:00-6:00 the morning of school.

  • Where can I look to find out if we will be on a 90-minute delay or snow delay?

    • - our website will have a banner on the homepage

    • Mountain View’s Facebook Page - we will keep the posts coming so you stay informed

    • - The District’s website will also have a banner on the homepage

    • The local news stations

    • You should get a text/email alert when the decision is made.  **You need to opt into emergency texts to get these alerts** Need to know how?  Click here.

      • **Also - if you UNSUBSCRIBE from DCSD weather emails you are also unsubscribing from ALL DCSD including MVE emails.

  • When does staff change from outdoor recess to indoor recess?

    • From the Parent/Student Information Handbook (linked here)

      • Cold Weather Dress:  During periods of inclement weather, please be sure your student comes to school with appropriate clothing, including boots, hat, gloves, socks, coat, etc.  Students will have outdoor recess except in cases of severe weather or if the temperature is less than 20 degrees.
