Jump Rope For Heart 2018!

Jump Rope for Heart 2018!
Posted on 10/18/2018

Dear Mountain View Families,

Every year Mountain View participates in a fundraiser to fight against heart disease called Jump Rope for Heart, the money we raise helps kids and adults who are battling heart disease currently and those who will be in the future.  During the fundraising period, our students learn about the importance of heart health, living healthy lifestyles and what means to help someone. Typically, our event takes place during spring around Valentines Day, but with the Fun Run being moved to the spring I decided that our fundraiser needed to be before the Holiday break.  Our kickoff event is this Friday, Oct 19th @ 2:50 pm in the gym. The students will be getting a ton of information about the fundraiser: donating online, prizes, send emails, curiosity questions, etc. It is my hope that you will be able to help them organize their thoughts and donation strategies so we can meet our goal of $15,000.00.   3 out of the last 5 years we have reached our goal and I’m hoping we can make it 4 out 6 after this year. As a bonus each year I agree to do something embarrassing or gross if the students reach $10,000 and then 15,000 raised. In years past I have given myself a swirly, jumped in the snow in a bathing suit, dressed as a woman for the day, eaten a cricket, etc.  All of these ideas come from our students and this year's embarrassment has yet to be decided. The final choice for each level will be revealed during the kickoff event.

Please visit the Kids Heart Challenge Website to get all the information you need to help your student achieve their donating goals.  If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to email me @ djmccarter@dcsdk12.org.

Sincerely,

Mr. McCarter
