I am the area manager of three Pre-K programs in DCSD.  I grew up in Portland, Oregon but moved here to Colorado in 1996 and haven't looked back.  I have my BS in Business Administration from the University of Denver and my Director's License as well.  When I'm not at school, I'm teach fitness classes or training for runs.  I'm hoping to run my first full marathon this year.  I have a pre-teen daughter and the two of us love to do anything active outdoors.  I'm proud of all of the great things that are happening in the Little Cubs program and look forward to getting to know all of the new families.

Hi, I'm Amy Largent, the Program Supervisor for the Little Cubs at Mountain View
Primary! I studied Early Childhood Education at Arapahoe Community College and
have my Large Center Director Certification. I have been with Douglas County
since 2012 and I love this school district. I’m currently enrolled in ECE classes to
get my degree in Education. I love Colorado & I love teaching preschool and Pre-K.
I love the funny stories I get to tell my family every day about what happened at
school. I enjoy spending time with my daughter, going to Avalanche games when
we can, playing the piano, funny movies, listening to music, shopping, cooking and
reading. I'm very honored to be a part of the Mountain View Primary community!

Lead Teacher
Lisa Rustad Bio Picture

Hello everyone! My name is Lisa Rustad, and I am so excited to be the newest teacher for the Mountain View Little Cubs program! I have taught in some capacity from preschool through 12th grade. I attended Arapahoe Community College for my early childhood education certificate, then moved on to Ashford University for my bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences/Education and am now taking classes toward my master’s degree online at Southern New Hampshire University. I believe in education! I have spent the last three years as a Title I Reading Interventionist assistant at a charter school in Aurora, and while I loved my time there, I have wanted to get back to my early childhood roots!  I love this age and stage of development. It is magical, fun, and school is a happy place to be! My philosophy of teaching pre-kindergarten is that children learn best through hands-on, experiential activities and developmentally appropriate practices that consider the whole child. I believe unreservedly that academics can and should be mixed with fun learning activities to prepare children for Kindergarten and beyond!  When I am not in the classroom, I have a husband of 32 years, four grown children, two beautiful grandsons, another grandchild on the way, and a slightly crazy miniature Australian Shepherd! When these things are not keeping me completely occupied, I enjoy reading, painting, baking, and taking long, quiet walks!  I look forward to getting to know each of you and your amazing children this year!
