Hello families! Welcome to first grade! My name is Sarah Kirby. Some returning MVE families may be thinking, "Hey isn't that Ms. Small?" Yes! On June 13, I got married to my very favorite person and am still getting used to this new name thing. Mike and I didn't let COVID get us down. We had a beautiful, perfect 10-person wedding in Allenspark, Colorado.

This will be my fifth year teaching first grade at Mountain View. First grade has my whole heart, and I cannot wait to meet my new little friends.

I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and lived in my hometown of Elmhurst, Illinois until 2016 when I decided to have an adventure and moved to Colorado.

When I'm not teaching, I love to be active. I am a registered yoga instructor, and I enjoy distance running and hiking in beautiful Colorado. I also love reading, cooking, and knitting. In addition to getting married, this summer, I completed my master's degree and visited family in Chicago.

I am so excited for a wonderful year!
