Three ways to get involved at Mountain View!

We love our volunteers at MVE and here are three ways you can get involved. They are:

1. Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) Due to the size of our schools, our PTO serves both Mountain View and Northeast Elementaries (MVE Pre-K through 2 -- NE 3 through 5). During the 2016-17 school year, the NE/MVE PTO raised over $120,000 for the schools! Meetings are currently held bi-monthly after school and child care is provided. This year's co-chairs are Kristen Olson (NE) and Baye Herald (MVE). To contact the PTO please email

2. School Accountability Committee (SAC)

The SAC meets the last Friday of every month at Mountain View.  The purpose of the SAC is to inform, encourage and provide opportunities for parent and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional program and quality improvement processes.

3. In-School/Classroom Volunteer opportunities.

Classroom teachers work directly with parents to schedule volunteer time with families.  Additionally, we use a resource called volunteer connect which will “post opportunities” in the school but not necessarily in a classroom. These opportunities can include games day and fun run day volunteers, volunteers to assist specials teachers, etc.

Go to: to register to see these opportunities.  Additionally you can contact Kate Bufton to add your name to the volunteer list.

**Please know that all parent volunteers and community volunteers will need to consent to a background check prior to volunteering with students.  Additionally, you will need to bring a valid driver’s license prior to your first volunteer session.**
